About Us

GLYNN WASHINGTON - Host & Executive Producer

Before creating the Snap Judgment radio show, Glynn worked as an educator, diplomat, community activist, actor, political strategist, fist-shaker, mountain-hollerer, and foot stomper. Glynn composed music for the Kunst Stoff dance performances in San Francisco, rocked live spoken word poetry in Detroit, joined a band in Indonesia, wrote several screenplays, painted a daring series of self portraits, released a blues album, and thinks his stories are best served with cocktails.

MARK RISTICH - Executive Producer

Mark Ristich is part organic audio farmer, part myth maker.  He can take the soul of your story, distill it five times  into 7.5 minutes of pure drivetime glory.    He is a software engineer turned audio engineer as a result of Public Radio Talent Quest.  The original volume monkey, he enjoys twisting knobs and adjusting levels over and over right up to the deadline.

ROMAN MARS - Senior Producer

Roman Mars is an award winning audio producer, reporter, and sound designer living in the East Bay. His reported and documentary work has most recently aired on Morning Edition, Weekend America, Crosscurrents and Re:sound. He is also the "Remixer-in-Chief" for the Public Radio Exchange's experimental XM satellite radio channel PRX: REMIX (XM 136). Roman spent three years with the Third Coast International Audio Festival at WBEZ in Chicago and he started his radio career at KALW in San Francisco with a program called Invisible Ink, an independent radio zine. Roman has a B.A. in Biology from Oberlin College and did postgraduate work in plant genetics at the University of Georgia. A lot of good that did him. If you Google his name you will get several hundred pictures of statues.

REBECCA HERTZ - Senior Producer

After spending a decade producing some of America's favorite guilty-pleasure reality television, Rebecca Hertz is now working for the forces of good in public media. Part of Rebecca's wild youth was spent at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts where she studied theater; in New York City at Barnard College, where she received a BA in Women's Studies and Theater; and at CalArts, where she did graduate work in writing and film. She's pleased as punch to be part of the Snap Judgment team.

Ben Bercasio - DJ and Social Networking Specialist

If Ben Bercasio isn't roaming around the social web finding out the latest buzz in the blogosphere, twitter, or Facebook, you'll most likely catch him behind the two turntables, mixing and scratching some flavorful sounds and even creating beats of his own. This San Diego State Communications and Music graduate has a passion for music and technology. His adaptation to technology allows him to be the talented musician he is now. Ben adds much style and flavor to Snap Judgment productions as the DJ behind the beats. Find out more about Ben at his twitter, soundcloud and blog

Stephanie Foo - Producer

Stephanie Foo is willing to risk her life for your entertainment. For past articles, she has run through medieval battlefields, overshared about exes at a whiskey convention and duped cops while posing as a teenage runaway. Her high school yearbook named her "Most Craziest," which explains a lot, namely the state of grammar instruction within our school system. She graduated hella cum laude from the University of California, Santa Cruz. When she's not interviewing polygamists and prophets for Snap Judgment, she's drawing comics and organizing storytelling events in San Francisco.

Rita Daniels - Podcast Producer

Rita Daniels was raised off the grid in the Wild Wild West by a pack of hippies and Pueblo Indians. She thinks these unique circumstances might have something to do with her obsession with the oral tradition and her unyielding need to capture personal stories about the human experience. Upon graduating from Emerson College for the Media Arts, Rita went to live in a cave in India. She's happy to be rejoining the world with the Snap Judgment Team.

A self-proclaimed "Grand-Prize-Winning Enthusiast," his first job at Snap Judgment involved building a large hatch in one of the rooms of our new offices.
