No Tankers Territory

Someone once said; "Do you drink water? Beathe Air? This is about you!" - from Jessica Brown's "A Moment Made for Change"

This is a story of how women from a remote Native community, located in the heart the last intact coastal Temperate rainforest ON THE PLANET, are standing up to the Federal Governmet of Canada and the oil Company Enbridge to protect the home they love.

Here is a short film called "No Tankers Territory" featuring conversations with Heiltsuk Woman on Enbridge’s Northern Gateway Pipeline and the NEB hearings in Bella Bella.

The Northern Gateway Pipeline would run from the Alberta Tar Sands to Kitimat BC, where super tankers would ship “The world’s dirtiest oil” through The Great Bear Rainforest, One of the last intact rainforest in the World, to China and the U.S...

These women are hereditary chiefs, elected chiefs, fisher-women, lawyers, mothers and elementry school teachers.. and they have some very powerful things to say that i believe everyone should here right now!

And here is my personal story of witnessing the Canadian Government's "Consultation process" on the pipeline, with the community of Bella Bella.
